Louise M. Kern, President

With over 30 years of international experience, Louise M. Kern has been a key figure in the business information industry since 1996. She began her career with a leading U.S. business information company, moving to Vienna in 1998 to lead European operations. In 2000, Ms. Kern returned to Chicago to head the company's International Division, significantly expanding its coverage to include non-U.S. companies.

Recognizing the increasing demand for high-quality business information in a globalized economy, Ms. Kern founded Global Business Information Services, Inc. (GloBIS) in 2003. She established the company to meet the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) expanding internationally.

GloBIS initially focused on China, forging relationships with top Chinese private and quasi-governmental credit reporting and market research organizations. By 2004, GloBIS had become the U.S. Commercial Service’s primary source for International Company Profile (ICP) reports on Chinese companies. Since then, GloBIS has expanded its coverage to businesses and individuals across the globe.

Today, GloBIS serves a diverse clientele, ranging from small startups to Fortune 100 companies, including defense conglomerates, international law firms, investment houses, and government agencies. In 2012, the U.S. International Trade Administration (ITA) recognized GloBIS as a Strategic Partner, making it the only due diligence provider on their official list. GloBIS also provides ICP reports for U.S. Commercial Service offices worldwide and Foreign Credit Reports for the EXIM Bank.

A seasoned global professional, Ms. Kern has lived in mainland China, Austria, Germany, and France. She is fluent in Mandarin and German and conversational in French. Ms. Kern holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Chicago, as well as a graduate diploma from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Nanjing University. She has served as a board member of the International Trade Association of Greater Chicago and International Women Associates, and was appointed by the Mayor of Chicago to the Chicago Sister Cities China Committee.

Julian Sanchez, Middle East Director
Based out of Dubai, the regional Financial and Logistics Hub, Julian has experience working across different verticals including Automotive, Engineering & Manufacturing, Technology and Logistics. Julian has been a GloBIS Team Member since 2012. His primary focus includes conducting our regional site visit interviews and special projects.

With graduate degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from his native Colombia and an International MBA from the Vlerick Business School in Belgium, Julian possesses the right skills to connect market circumstances, company information and trends to derive useful insights.

Julian has a keen eye for detail and executes thorough and complete market research activities and site visit interviews.

In his personal life, Julian is passionate about traveling, cooking and financial independence.
